Artist Paolo Veronese captured 16th century Venice in all of its splendor: rich people in sumptuous clothing, stunning architecture and vibrant colors.

More than 70 of his works are on display at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota,FL The special exhibit — all curated from North American museums — opened Dec. 7 and runs through April 14, 2013.
