A collection of photographs from notable female artists is heading to auction, with proceeds benefitting the Avon Foundation for Women, an organization dedicated to breast cancer research and ending domestic violence.
The Avon Collection covers 6 decades of female artists including Louise Dahl-Wolfe, Cindy Sherman and Sally Mann.The collection usurps the tradition of male photographers capturing the female essence, instead presenting images from a woman's point of view.
Over 90 works will head to auction at Freeman's Auctioneers on September 10, 2013.
