Seconds before taping his Billboard interview, Big Sean's phone rang. "It's my girlfriend," he told me, looking up from his phone. I said that he should feel free to answer.
"Oh no, she just texted me," he said, looking down at his phone again. His girlfriend, Glee actress and singer, Naya Rivera, had texted to tell him she made it into work.
All I could think was, 'Wow, you guys are that close. You're each other's person.' I wondered if Big Sean and Naya Rivera are at that stage in their relationship where they tell each other their every thought and move for the consideration and care of the other's feelings.
What was evident though, is that Big Sean is in love. When I asked him "How do you know when it's love?" he was speechless for the first few seconds.
"You know when it's love when you can't explain it," he finally answered. "That's when you know it's love, when you got that feeling for somebody where you would do anything at anytime, damn near, and put your pride on the line… but you know that it's so real that you would hardly ever have to put your pride on the line because that person cares that much about you. You know it's real when somebody will wake up from their sleep and make you food."
