TSD: What does "virtuoso" mean?
DJ Genius: Virtuoso means Mastery of the arts, skill, manliness, excellence & striving for perfection!
TSD: What made you want to do an EP?
DJ Genius: I wanted to bring everything I have been doing the past couple of years in the industry into one project. Something that depicted my life musically.
TSD: How long have you been working on your EP?
DJ Genius: I have been working on the EP for about year.
TSD: Who do you have featured?
DJ Genius: Gorilla Zoe, Rich Kidz, Waka Flocka, Verse Simmonds, Tha Joker , Jody Breeze, Slim Dunkin, Sonny Digital, Sy Ari Da Kid , Scotty ATL, Mike Fresh, Sean Teezy, LA Da BoomMan, Band Geakz, and many more.
TSD: What sets DJ Genius apart from other DJs?
DJ Genius: What sets me apart is my heavy involvement in the making of the music. I'm actually in the studio choosing the beats and working hands-on with the artist to actually put the songs together. I also work heavily on my branding and marketing which I think creates the unique package that comes with DJ Genius.
TSD: Artists always have a crazy story or two that happened while making a project. Any crazy moments or bloops and blunders happen while creating this EP?
DJ Genius: Definately. Mainly one at the Tha Joker video shoot he was feeling the song he did for the EP so tough, he actually got the title of song tatted on him at the video shoot. And our instagrm promotional campaign lead to my account being deleted. Guess it was too hot for my followers. New instagram is Genius_Virtuoso though!
TSD: How'd you comes up with the marketing and promotional material?
DJ Genius: Really just drinking some Hennessy, smoking a cigar and getting in my creative zone lol. That combined with a great team who give their inputs and always keep it 100.
TSD: When and where will the Virtuoso be available?
DJ Genius: The standard EP will be available on 12.12.12 in the afternoon on Livemixtapes.com & The Deluxe will be available aronud the same time on DjGeniusMusic.com
