“We are so proud to work together with C & A and Polaroid, giants of digital photography,” says De Rosa, now CEO of Socialmatic. “It’s been a long and difficult negotiation but we were strongly motivated to reach an agreement to create a small revolution in digital photography. This mix of Hardware and Software, together with our brand new photo social network will fill the gap between virtuality and reality.”
Slated for release in the first quarter of 2014, the Polaroid Socialmatic Camera will be equipped with Wi-Fi/3G connectivity and 16GB of onboard storage. It will also have a SC-HD slot for external storage.
Essentially, the Polaroid Socialmatic Camera will be a point-and-shoot camera with support for photo filters and social media sharing. It will let you post photos taken with the camera on the Socialmatic network, email them, and share them on Facebook, Twitter, and of course, Instagram.
Most interestingly, it will let you print out your photos right from the camera and share it IRL.
